In order to facilitate a smooth and proper check-out, please make sure you:
-Close and lock windows.
-Clean & empty refrigerator. For rental units, disconnect and leave door partially open for ventilation.
-Empty trash into hall containers/dumpsters or curbside.
-Dust furniture surfaces.
-Clean kitchen, suite bathroom, & common areas (as applicable).
-Verify that all college furniture is present.
-Remove all personal items from drawers, closets, walls, etc.
-Lock room/exterior door as you leave.
-Last occupant to leave should place yellow “Checkout Checklist” post-it on exterior of room door.
-Return room key to designated locations (see: “See Room Check Outs”)
At the conclusion of the Spring semester, Facilities Operations staff will conduct damage inspections in all residence facilities.
To avoid damage charges, be sure your room is in proper
condition—no damage to walls, furniture present, room clean, free of personal items, etc— prior to your departure.
Brooms, dustpans, vacuums, and trash bags, are available through your RA.
Room Check Outs
If you live in on-campus residence halls or Greek Chapter Houses, once you have vacated items and cleaned your room, you will need to meet with their RA to check-out of your room and return your key. Please see your RA with more information on how to make an appointment.
If you are unable to make an appointment with your RA to check-out, you may complete an Express Check Out by returning your key to the Office of Residence Life (Farinon 132) or Public Safety if Farinon is closed.
The Residence Life office will have extended hours to assist with Express Check Outs.
Friday, May 12th, 5-7pm
Saturday, May 13th, 10am-4pm
Sunday, May 14th, noon-4pm
A non-refundable $25 fee will be assessed for any key not returned by May 18th. Checkpoints should NOT be returned unless you are graduating, transferring, or otherwise leaving the College permanently.
Extended Stay Requests
Non-seniors may remain in residence beyond the official close of the residence halls on May 15th under the following circumstances:
1. Member of a College athletic team scheduled to practice/compete beyond May 15th. Submit a Spring Extended Stay Application through MyHousing.

3. Individually approved by the Office of Residence Life. Submit a Spring Extended Stay Application through MyHousing.

If you are unable to move out within 24-hours of your last exam and your departure date will be prior to Monday, May 15th, you DO NOT need to complete the Extended Stay application. Simply make a check-out appointment with your RA.
