Drop-off and Pick-up Procedures

Item Drop-Off:

Semester closing: Students are to bring all of the items that they want to store to the designated storage area of their choice during the posted hours.  These hours will be established and advertised by the Office of Residence Life.  Specific drop-off hours will be scheduled at the end of the spring semester and may be scheduled at the end of the fall semester.  Students who arrive to the storage areas outside of these designated hours will not be able to access the closet.

During the fall or spring semester: Items will also be accepted for drop-off between September 1– December 1 and February 1– March 15.  To access storage during these times, students must make an individual appointment with a Resident Advisor.

Residence Life staff will close individual closets if they become full.  If a closet is “closed” no additional items will be accepted into it.

  • Students are responsible for transporting their items to the storage area and for placing their items properly inside.  Items should be compactly arranged at the furthest point from the entrance.  In order to maximize the space in the closet, insure safe egress, and facilitate the entry/exit of other students, items may be moved.  The College is not responsible for any damage that may occur.
  • After placing their items in the storage closet, students are to fill out a storage label for each item they have stored (ex. a student stores a refrigerator and a single bag of clothes: the student is to fill out 1 storage label for the refrigerator and 1 label for the bag of clothes and stick the corresponding label to each item).

Due to the number of items that have been left unclaimed in the past and the need to empty storage areas each year for future student usage, unidentified items will be discarded.

  • Once the white storage labels are filled out, the student is to complete a Community Storage Agreement.  Students are encouraged to read this form and all the information on this web page in advance of placing items in storage.  Labels and Community Storage Agreements will be supplied by the Residence Life staff member who has opened the closet.

It is ultimately the responsibility of the individual student placing his/her items in storage to follow these procedures.  Therefore, do not leave any items in storage without completing a Storage Agreement form and appropriately labeling all items.

 Item Pick-Up:

Semester opening: Students are to arrive at the location where their items are stored during the published storage hours.  These hours will be established by the Office of Residence Life.  Specific pick-up hours will be scheduled at the beginning of the fall semester and may be scheduled at the beginning of the spring semester.  Students who arrive to the storage areas outside of these designated hours will not be able to access the closet.

FALL 2014 Storage Pick Up Schedule

During the fall and spring semester:
Items may also be picked-up between September 1– December 1 and February 1– March 15.  To access storage during this period, students must make an individual appointment with a Resident Advisor.

  • Upon arrival at the closet, students are to show the staff member a picture ID and may remove only their items from the closet.  Students are responsible for transporting their items from the storage area.

Items left in the storage closet after May 1 are subject to donation.  Items that are not labeled will similarly be discarded.
