Inter-session and Interim Housing
INTERIM
During the 3-week January Interim Session, college housing is available for students who are enrolled in an interim course, conducting EXCEL research, employed on campus, or participating in an intercollegiate athletic team. Other reasons to be on campus will be evaluated and you may be given individual permission to stay on campus during this time. In all of these instances students must individually register for Interim Housing themselves.
For safety and energy conservation students staying for interim will be consolidated into specific buildings.
NOTE: All conditions of the Code of Student Conduct and the academic year Housing Contract apply to students living in residence halls between the Fall and Spring semesters. Inter-session and Interim housing residents are responsible for adhering to the policies and procedures described in these publications including any specific housing terms and conditions published by the Office of Residence Life for these periods.
INTER-SESSION
Inter-session is the two week period in December between the end of the fall semester and the beginning of Interim Housing. During this period the residence halls are “closed” for all students with the exception of specific athletic teams and students for whom the distance from their home on record necessitates continued residency on campus. Individual students will be billed for this period if they need to stay on campus.
If you fall into the categories above and have not already communicated with Residence Life about housing during this period, you should email reslife@lafayette.edu no later than the Interim Housing priority deadline.
Please note: you must register for Inter-session in addition to your Interim Housing request.
