During the 3-week January Interim Session, college housing is available for students who are enrolled in an interim course, conducting EXCEL research, employed on campus, or participating in an intercollegiate athletic team. Other reasons to be on campus will be evaluated and students may be given individual permission to stay on campus during this time. In all of these instances students must individually register for Interim Housing themselves.
For safety and energy conservation students staying for interim will be consolidated into specific buildings.
NOTE: All conditions of the Student Handbook and the academic year Housing Contract apply to students living in residence halls between the Fall and Spring semesters. Intersession and Interim housing residents are responsible for adhering to the policies and procedures described in these publications including any specific housing terms and conditions published by the Office of Residence Life for these periods. Students will also sign a Winter Housing Agreement before they receive a key.
Intersession is the two week period in December between the end of the fall semester and the beginning of Interim Housing. During this period the residence halls are “closed” for all students with the exception of specific athletic teams and students for whom the distance from their home on record necessitates continued residency on campus. Individual students will be billed for this period if they need to stay on campus. Students who need housing during this time should register for Winter Housing.
